From 1 April 2023 until 31 December 2024, travellers of 22 other nationalities will no longer need to apply for a K-ETA to visit South Korea. This announcement was made to celebrate the " Visit Korea Year (2023 – 2024) ".
Citizens of countries eligible for this K-ETA exemption can now travel to South Korea without formalities for a period determined by their nationality. European travellers eligible for this measure are authorised to stay in Korea without a visa, and therefore without K-ETA, for the following periods 90 days.
The following countries are eligible for this electronic travel authorisation exemption: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Macau, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom and United States (including Guam)..
It is important to note that holders of approved K-ETAs may use them until their expiry date, but thatno refund will be given to those who have already submitted an electronic travel authorisation request. Nationals of these 22 countries/regions can still apply for a K-ETA.
